My name is Sean Staples and I call Kansas City, MO home. I have a couple of kids a wife and am just looking for a ways to do more of what I enjoy in life. I started the blog for a couple reasons as you can read in my first post but mainly so I can hopefully learn some new things, discuss ideas and maybe even teach others a thing or two. As I mentioned in my very first post I am an entrepreneur at heart and love to talk about small business and entrepreneurship, but there are tons of other topics that I wouldn't mind talking about including personal finance and sports.
I have an MBA from the University of Missouri in Kansas City with emphasis areas in entrepreneurship and finance. I have an undergrad degree in Business Administration and a minor in economics. I like to think that I have a pretty good understanding of business and in particular new businesses. While I think I have a grasp on the business growing process one thing I don't have a grasp on is what I want to do in life, for a career. I want to make sure whatever I find is what I am truly happy doing. If there is anything that i have learned through my experience and education it is that if you truly want to be successful you have to find what makes you happy. That is really what this blog is all about for me. I am hoping that through this blog and my writings I can find what makes me happy or help others find what makes them happy. This blog allows me to write about things that I find interesting and helps me learn a little at the same time. That makes me happy.
As I mentioned above I will most likely be writing about many different topics but I also want to specify that I have now formal writing education beyond entry level college courses. I don't pretend to be an author and am the last to call someone out on a grammatical mistake. Look if you can read it and understand what I meant, I consider that a good blog in my book.
I think most importantly, my goal with this blog is to get other people involved. I truly hope that I can gain a following with the blog and have other people provide some real feedback to the ideas or opinions I write. I am an open minded individual that isn't afraid to share his opinion. This is the board room at your corporation you work for where no one can truly say what they want to say. I hate this part of the corporate world with an absolute passion. It has to be so politically correct all of the time. Look, I get it. I know when to keep my mouth shut or what answer to give and when but it doesn't mean that I agree with. My point is say what you need to say without attacking someone or their ideas or beliefs. In my opinion there are a lot of ways to achieve success and accomplish all kinds of tasks but the most important thing is to Just Do It!
